Implementing mechanical manual handling aids, training programs and competency reviews is unfortunately not proving the ultimate answer to the continued problem of MSD injuries in both clinical and non-clinical environments, in Health care. The statistical trends have reached a plateau and we need more! To identify solutions we need to explore not only current climates but the evolution of the health industry to current day.  Understanding the reasons for certain negative behaviour can assist in understanding the most likely solutions for change. It’s no secret that we need behaviour modification and life style changes to drop the injury rates. The hardest task confronting us is how to change the mindset of people who think they cannot change. Both care person and patient/resident. This paper attempts to discuss possible solutions through using a ABI case story. Research data provided. (Unnamed sources)
