Students and agency staff working in the health and community services sector need to have the skills and knowledge to safely perform people handling activities while on placement with a host employer.

This session will assist participants to:

better understand and manage their workplace health and safety responsibilities for people handling training, including:
-information about each party's obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011
-discussion on the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (including hazardous manual tasks),

- Hazardous Manual Tasks Code of Practice 2011 and

-the Manual Tasks Involving the Handling of People Code of Practice 2001
Look at ways to deliver people handling training to students and agency staff
Standards in providing students and agency staff with the skills and knowledge needed for their placement.
